When we first started discussing the possibility of a reunion, we felt the best target date would be any Saturday from mid-September to late-October. That would put us past summer vacations and kids starting back to school; also, it was beyond the heat but before the winter's snow (and well before the start of the holiday season).
We knew we wanted a facility in either Rosedale or Overlea, and since there had been no 30th reunion, we wanted to put on a first class affair. So in early March we started looking into possible locations. To our surprise, we continually found our optimal time period was booked for evening events. Overlea Hall however had a great package, with a delicious menu, so when they offered the afternoon slot on Saturday the 18th, we decided to book it.
While some of us were a little uncertain about the afternoon hours, it didn't take long before we realized that it might actually work out better, as it allows for groups of alumni to continue the party into the evening at any number of restaurants and pubs in the general area. For most of us, only four hours will not be enough to catch up on all that has happened over the years!
After the reunion is over, please send us your feedback about the event. If you like the afternoon hours, let us know; if you'd prefer to have the next one in the evening, tell us that.
If we can gain a sense of what is desired, then we can begin planning further in advance when the 40th comes around. And by using the WWW, we could even do an email survey to see what date/time/location seems the most favorable to the most people.
We look forward to seeing you again in October!
